Biography
Fabiana Formica is an Italian-Romanian-American writer, actress, and former news producer. She is the author of Childless – A Woman and a Girl in a Man’s World, a work of literary nonfiction. With a background in both the performing and literary arts, Fabiana’s creative journey has taken her across continents and disciplines.
Born in Italy to a Romanian mother and an Italian father, Fabiana was raised between Rome and New York. She attended international schools, where she became fluent in Italian, English, and French. She later learned Spanish while living in Mexico and Spain. Her global upbringing cultivated a lifelong curiosity for diverse cultures and perspectives.
Fabiana holds a BA and MA in Political Science and will be completing an Associate of Arts (AA) Degree in English and a Certificate in Creative Writing from Los Angeles City College in 2025. She spent ten years working in journalism as TV news producer and editor for major outlets, including the Associated Press Television News and Reuters TV. Her freelance documentary work took her to India, Ghana, Spain, and Italy, covering themes of social justice, immigration, and culture.
Alongside her journalism career, Fabiana trained as a theater actress. She performed in theater, film, and television in Rome, London, Barcelona, and Los Angeles. She is best known to cult horror fans for her role as “Valentina” in the 1994 film Dellamorte Dellamore (Cemetery Man), which earned her a place in horror cinema history. In 2017, she co-produced and starred in the one-woman show The Words to Say It, inspired by French-Algerian writer Marie Cardinal’s autobiographical novel on mental illness, trauma, and healing through psychoanalysis.
Now based in Los Angeles, Fabiana has turned her creative focus to literature. Her debut memoir-as-phylosophy, Childless – A Woman and a Girl in a Man’s World, is a deeply personal exploration of gender, identity, and the struggles of living in a male-dominated world. With raw honesty, she shares her journey of self-discovery, defying societal expectations, and finding strength in her individuality.
Fabiana hopes to continue writing, performing, and advocating for a renewed cultural narrative around womanhood as a pathway to a more empathetic and just society.
The Eros Behind the Logo
Where Heart, Mind, and Soul Converge
I chose this logo to represent vulnerability and the act of laying oneself bare – the courage of bearing one’s soul. The feminine form is portrayed not as an object, but as a symbol of grace, introspection, groundedness, and nourishment. The design is inspired by a gold pendant I wear – a representation of the Virgo zodiac sign that once belonged to my mother. For me, it also evokes the quiet strength of the feminine – not a physical power, but a deeply spiritual one. A quiet force rooted in presence and inner truth. A Goddess.
